Power Outlets Are Direct-Wired, Not “Daisy-Chained.” When it comes to high-voltage electricity, cutting costs by minimizing wire gauge and wire connection methods can lead to dangerous circumstances and shortened product life. All Powerbox™ products are built with direct-wired outlets, which has two benefits: 1.) Direct-wired outlets allow maximum current flow. There are no resistance “bottlenecks” created by current being passed-on from one outlet to the next. Powerbox™ outlets have individually wired feeds with over-gauged wire, which creates virtually no measurable resistance, allowing all of the precious and expensive power to flow directly to your devices, without current loss. 2.) Direct-Wired outlets allow for increased protection and reliability. In a daisy-chain configuration, if any individual outlet goes out, every successive outlet in the chain goes down. In a direct-wire configuration, if one outlet goes out, all other outlets continue to function as normal, and you don't lose power to your devices.

Heavy-Duty Relay. In all lighting controllers, the relay is one of the most important components. The relay is the “Gate” that opens and closes when triggered by the digital timer (or trigger cord), and allows power to flow to your devices. The relay carries full-load power and supplies current to all of the outlets. Smaller relays may “work,” but they create extreme amounts of unneeded resistance – the biggest bottleneck to uninterrupted current flow. Resistance is like an electrical thief – it wastes electricity, increases your power bill, and creates unnecessary heat – things that most people want to avoid. All 240V Powerbox™ products use industrial-strength relays that are built to handle the heavy demands of today's H.I.D. lighting and other devices, with ease – relaying precious power with 99.9% efficiency, and virtually no measurable resistance.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt (GFCI) Protection. At Powerbox™, Safety comes first. Let's never forget that 240V power is dangerous and must be handled with the greatest respect. Since water is an essential component to every garden, many Powerbox™ products are built with Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt (GFCI) protection. What this means, is that you are protected against severe shock and/or electrocution in the case of an unexpected water accident. From something as common as a splash, to something as severe as an accidental flood - in the case of a water accident, our GFCI circuit interruption device immediately cuts power to the Powerbox™ and connected devices, to protect your life, safety and property.

Choice of Digital Timer and Trigger Cord. Powerbox™ products come with a built-in digital timer that is both highly-functional and reliable, to provide flexible control over your lighting devices. In addition to the digital timer, most Powerbox™ products also come with a “Trigger Cord” to allow other devices to control the On/Off cycles of the Powerbox™. This provides the ultimate in flexibility. Use Powerbox™ as a fully-functional standalone device, or combine it with other sophisticated control equipment to gain even greater functionality.

Digital Ammeter to Keep You Aware of Load Draw. Many 240V Powerbox™ products come with a built-in digital ammeter (with a Green display), to keep you aware of your current draw at all times.
